Membership to the Commission

Membership is open to all Member Nations and associate Members of FAO and WHO. In addition, observers from international scientific community, food industry, food trade and consumers associations may attend sessions of the Commission and its subsidiary bodies. By 2001, the Commission membership had grown to 165 countries.

India has been a member of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC), since the year 1970.
