Codex Commodity Committees

Codex Commodity Committees are responsible for developing standards for specific foods or classes of food. In order to distinguish them from the "Horizontal Committees" and recognize their exclusive responsibilities, they are often referred to as "Vertical Committees

There are 13 such committees:

Committee on Fish and Fishery Products, hosted by Norway
Committee on Fats and Oils, hosted by the United Kingdom
Committee on Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, hosted by Mexico
Committee on Processed Fruits and Vegetables, hosted by the United States
Committee on Milk and Milk Products , hosted by New Zealand
Committee on Cocoa Products and Chocolate, hosted by Switzerland
Committee on Natural Mineral Waters, hosted by Switzerland
Committee on Sugars, hosted by the United Kingdom
Committee on Vegetable Proteins, hosted by Canada
Committee on Cereals, Pulses and Legumes, hosted by the United States
Committee on Soups and Broths, hosted by Switzerland
Committee on Meat and Poultry Hygiene, hosted by New Zealand
