Codex Commodity Committees

Codex Commodity Committees are responsible for developing standards for specific foods or classes of food. In order to distinguish them from the "Horizontal Committees" and recognize their exclusive responsibilites, they are often referred to as "Vertical Committees".

There are 13 such committees:

Committee on Fish and Fishery Products, hosted by Norway
Codex Committee on Fats and oils, Hosted by Malaysia
Committee on Fresh Fruits and Vegetable,, hosted by Mexico
Codex Committee on processed Fruits and vegetable, Host Government- United States
